TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Since obtaining my Masters of Science in Deaf Education, I've had the pleasure of working three years as an auditory oral deaf educator in a classroom of hearing and atypically hearing students.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I feel that students learn best when they are truly interested in the material and taught by teachers who show enthusiasm for learning. As a teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing, my personal teaching philosophy involves integrating grammar and language lessons throughout all subject material. The integration examples are meant to provide inspiration for using the materials in the classroom to meet the needs of your particular students. I encourage general education teachers to consult with the school speech pathologist and special education teachers and aids to develop ways to integrate students’ speech and language goals within these lessons.
