TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I'm currently entering my seventh year of teaching. I have taught all seven years at the sixth grade level, at a small school in west central Illinois. Although we are a small school, we have access to a variety of technological resources, which I try to utilize as much as possible.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am very much a hands-on teacher. I try and avoid the "sit-and-get" style of teaching as much as possible. I use mainly mini-lessons, followed by hands on practice. Sometimes the practice is in the form of a worksheet, but it something the students are actively doing, not searching for an answer, or making random guesses.
