I've been teaching math since 2008. I have also been a restaurant manager and enjoy cooking. I've run a cooking elective several years at my school. I started playing the trumpet in 4th grade and played through my 3rd year of college in many school groups. I find students identify well with music and would love to make it more a part of my classes.
I once had a student tell me, "You're the most interesting boring person I've ever met". That pretty much sums up my personality and teaching style. I'm not over-the-top but still keep things entertaining. I think a good rapport with my students is very important for both their academics and behavior.

In addition to math, music, and cooking I also enjoy and participated in soccer and martial arts. I originally went to college for physics before switching to math to become an actuary. Toward the end of college I tutored math at the local high school and discovered a passion for teaching. Shameless plug: My wife sews and sells cloth diapers. If you use them and it came from buggabuggaboutique then my wife made them. They are the best cloth diapers out there and I would never go back to disposable diapers. (although I'm a bit biased)
