Marvel Math

I love, love, love teaching math!!! I have been an educator for 16 years in California and Texas. I have been a classroom teacher in both elementary and high school and spent many years as a K-5 math specialist. I also work as a k-12 math consultant in Texas and California, traveling around the state and delivering workshops to teachers.

I believe students learn best through hands-on experiences and real-world projects. It is important to connect mathematics concepts in your instruction, rather than teaching skills in isolation. It is also essential to have a balanced approach to instruction, which includes conceptual development, procedural fluency and problem solving. I have earned my MA in Mathematics Education and have a thorough understanding of how concepts are developed over time from grade to grade.

I am blessed to be a wife and a mother of two amazing children. In addition to a passion for mathematics, I love interior design and long distance running.
