TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My teaching experience includes 19 years, in senior high and middle school, in public schools, private schools and a charter school. I taught math, math intervention, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, earth science, physical science and physics. My volunteering in schools continues. I have been a classroom helper, taught before or after school remediation or enrichment, coached for MathCounts, science fairs and Science Olympiad as well as chaperoned for field trips and competitions. I currently help in a kindergarten class and a 4th grade classroom, leading small group math activities.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching, and now my tutoring, has morphed to incorporating visuals and hands-on activities, mental math and worksheets to help students 'see' the math concept, understand it and then practice the topic. I also have developed over 250 sets of task cards for students to practice dozens of topics. My goal for having a store in TpT is to provide teachers and homeschoolers with very helpful materials so they can help students 'see' and understand the concepts and then practice, practice, practice to develop speed and accuracy.
