TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Having been an English teacher at the middle, high school, and college levels for over twenty years, I am currently a presenter for the Bureau of Education and Research, where I have instructed over 20,000 teachers. I have spoken at state, national, and international conventions on best practices for both writing and reading. With my own company, MEL'S Pen, LLC, I am fortunate enough to be able to go into classrooms across the U.S,. sharing strategies with students and seeing immediate results.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Whatever aspect of ELA I am teaching, I believe in modeling for students in a workshop atmosphere, making difficult concepts more manageable by breaking the processes into stages, and assessing along the way so that students will have every chance to succeed.
