I have taught Kindergarten in Kennett Square, PA for six years and I absolutely LOVE it! Before that I was a literacy intern in a first grade classroom in Philadelphia (that means I co-taught with an experienced teacher while I was working on my teaching certification).
I try to teach to different learning styles by incorporating hands-on activities, songs, and dancing and movement into my lessons. I also have a passion for children's literature, and I try to incorporate as much of it as I can into all curricular areas, including math and science.
2013/2014 - Named Outstanding Teacher of the Year
I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Art, and I also have an MBA that I earned when I was in my 20's. In my "previous life" (before teaching) I was a financial analyst. I went back to school and finished my teaching certification in 2007, and I am currently finishing an M.Ed. in Reading.
I am married to a very supportive and encouraging husband, and I have a 10 year old son who is bright and funny and gives me lots of ideas that I can use with my kiddos in Kindergarten.
