I have been teaching Social Studies in the High School and Middle School setting for the past 17 years. I have taught US History for 15 years, and Global History for 10 years. I have also taught, Introduction to Law, Criminal Law, Local History, Participation in Government, Economics and Latin American Studies. I have spent most of my career in an urban environment and have many resources that can be easily adapted to different levels.
I have a very vibrant classroom. I love to have lively discussions and watch kids become historians. Students are exposed to a lot of evidence and then use their social studies skills to understand historical events. I use a variety of different teaching methods throughout a unit including simulations, direct instruction, group work, projects and debate.
I have received many awards from my school including Social Studies Teacher of the Year, and the I Made a Difference Award
I have my Bachelor's in History and Social Studies Education from Fredonia State and my M.ED from Nazareth College.
I live in Hilton NY with my husband and our two beautiful children, two dogs and 1 fish!!
