TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught high school mathematics since 2012. The subjects I have taught are: Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus and A.P. Statistics.

MY TEACHING STYLE

The Idea behind Common Core is important! Students need to make their own connections and truly understand the "why" behind every concept. Sparking students' natural curiosity with effective questioning, intriguing problems, and hands-on activities is the gateway to learning. I begin nearly every unit with an exploration or activity that requires students to do all the hard work.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Teacher of the Year 2016 at my high school

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Earned a BS in both Mathematics and Biology and a MA in Education

I love teaching! I love the students, my coworkers and my subject (MATH!) When not at school, I spend my time outdoors. My family, my friends and my husband are my life.
