TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've taught high school mathematics for 24 years, including Honors Precalculus, Algebra 2, Geometry, Algebra 1, Math Fundamentals, Computer Programming (Visual Basic, Delphi Pascal, Php, GW-BASIC) and Chess.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to keep things on the positive side with random humor, fun multimedia and wacky illustrations, while still infusing rigor and accountability in the class. My classroom is generally viewed as a place students look forward to coming to, even if math isn't a favorite of theirs.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

• Authored a book, "Success Secrets for Young Adults," available everywhere online • A former Mensa member, which May Or May Not be due to either a) losing a couple of standard deviations of IQ points along the way, or b) not paying my annual dues

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

• B.S. Business and Marketing/Advertising, Arizona State University • M.Ed Secondary Education, Arizona State University

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I play jazz trumpet professionally, having performed with Grammy-winning artists The Four Tops, Natalie Cole, The Temptations, jazz great Joe Henderson, The Woody Herman Big Band and many others. Played to a packed house (as a sideman) at the Hollywood Bowl.
