TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I live at the beautiful location of Panama City Beach. I am blessed enough to be an educator at Breakfast Point Academy as an 8th grade ASPIRE/Intervention teacher.

MY TEACHING STYLE

With the students I teach, guided Math is the only way to go. I use interactive notebooks daily and keep whole group down to 10 minutes maximum. I believe they only hear about half of what I say during whole group, so it is up to me to get them individually and figure out what they need. I am exhausted by March, but you better believe they have learned something.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

My education hasn't been the traditional route. I went to undergrad my first year at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illnois. It didn't work out so well. I was unfocused and overwhelmed. I took a year off and then went to Highland Community College, Freeport, IL. I was lucky to have some great mentors. I finished my undergrad at Beloit College. Go BUCS!! This was another life changing experience that pushed me to succeed in my educational journey. I ended up in Alabama some kinda way and received a Master's in Special Education that is invaluable.

I love long walks on the beach (not really, I run everywhere), sipping coffee, and potato chips. I REALLY LOVE POTATO CHIPS!!
