I LOVE teaching Algebra! I started out as a Test-Tutor while still substituting and fell in love. I then taught Algebra at a Boarding School for students with emotional disturbances. Currently, I teach in a 9th grade setting with lots of inclusion.
Differentiating instruction is a MUST in my classroom since I have students of all different ability levels. I am big on keeping Algebra FUN! A little creativity can help students LOVE math and feel successful. My teaching style is very hands on. I try to make lessons cross-curricular when appropriate.
Nominated for Teacher of the Year 2015-2016 Summa Cum Laude
I have my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Special Education. I am certified in Early Childhood Education N-3, Elementary Education K-6, Special Education N-21, and Mid-Level Mathematics 6-9. I am continuing my education for my Masters in Environmental Education.
I am excited to share my content with you. It is so nice to know that something I have worked hard on can be shared and used with others. For this reason, I try to keep my costs low (or FREE) for you. I am currently working on a few projects including a teaching blog, Environmental Education Blog, and youtube page with FREE algebra videos. Thanks for checking out my page! I hope you enjoy. -Math Mermaid
