This project allows students the autonomy of choosing their own topic, while giving the teacher the ability to approve the chosen topic. This would be a great culminating activity after completing a Statistics chapter or unit in lieu of the test.

This is a great project to do as a review before state testing on all the functions or to use throughout the year and have the kids complete one part as you teach each of the functions. I love the final results and the kids that do not like

This a a great project to incorporate fractions, all operations, writing, and student choice. These make a nice item to integrate math, reading, and writing and would be great to do when you have 3-5 days at the end of the quarter, semester, or

This project has the students make a giant hand and a giant snack to see what a giant that was the same proportions as they are would eat. I did this project with my geometry students (mostly freshman and sophomores) but you could probably also do

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught mathematics for 15 years. I started out teaching 6th-8th grade, then moved to High School and started with Integrated Math I, II, III and Algebra I. Currently the last 8 years have had me teaching Algebra I, II, Geometry, Integrated Math, College Algebra and Statistics.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love to teach using foldables, interactive notebooks, hands-on activities, projects as well as some traditional teaching ideas. I love to use VARIETY to help my kids stay interested and cut down on boredom. My goals through teaching are to create relationships through mutual respect and help students learn to appreciate mathematics and to understand it versus just being able to follow a process or procedure that has been memorized without understanding. I feel that projects and real-world problems allow for the greatest understanding and learning.
