I have taught for the last 17 years. I have taught kindergarten for five years, first grade for nine years, K-5 music one year, and Special Education for two years.
Children benefit when they are allowed to explore using hands-on centers and activities. So I focus on activities such as write the room, STEM units, and math centers.
2014-2015 I was Teacher of the Year for my building. I have also received two grants: one for music and one for flexible seating.
I received my B.S. in Education in 1998 from Southern Nazarene University and my M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction in 2000 from Southern Nazarene University.
I have been married for 19 years to my best friend, Aaron. I have three children Lee, Stormi, and LeAnne. My husband and my children are my world! They are my sunshine when all else seems to fall apart!
