TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been teaching for 14 years -- I began teaching 3rd grade at an independent Episcopal school in New Orleans, then 2nd and 3rd grade at an independent school in Champaign, IL. Now I'm continuing my legacy at a fabulous independent school in Asheville, NC, teaching 2nd grade again! What a perfect age! I hope you enjoy teaching the lessons in my shop as much as I do!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I enjoy creating hands-on, real world activities for my students!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelor of Education '03 (Elem Ed & Early Childhood) - Loyola University New Orleans Masters of Education in Curriculum & Instruction in Math Education - University of New Orleans (began but stopped due to Hurricane Katrina)

I married my high school sweetheart in June of 2007. We welcomed our first son on Halloween 2012! We welcomed our second son on May 5, 2015. I teach at a little private school, and my husband teaches music at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In my free time, I love being a mommy, sewing, and scrapbooking! I've wanted to be a teacher since I was *very* young! My inspiration early on was to win a Disney's American Teacher Award. Though the award is no longer given, I try to live up to the ideals for which it stood for.
