This is an animation that uses a skier to help build student intuition about slope. It is very helpful in clearing up the difference between lines that have no slope (undefined) and lines with zero slope.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a fourth year NYC DOE high school teacher. I spent my first year teaching Physics at a Bronx inner city school with the mission of serving Spanish-speaking ELLs. For three years, I taught Math at a selective NYC public school with an accelerated program, allowing students to graduate in 4 years with both a high school degree and an associates degree.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I think learning should be fun! I love to use interactive Smart Boards in the classroom, with lots of visuals. I try to integrate games, cooperative learning, and thought-provoking discussion into every lesson.
