TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have forty years of successful teaching and administrative experience. I have taught students in the states of Alabama, Florida, Illinois, and Michigan. I am also certified to teach in Oklahoma. I have been highly rated by over one hundred principles across America. I was a Reading Administrator for Saginaw Public Schools in Title One programs (Central Middle School). I have conducted Best Practices Workshops in Teaching at Saginaw Valley State University, Clintondale Middle School, Clintondale, Michigan and the Kellogg Foundation in Battle Creek, Michigan. As well as, facilitated one hundred workshops on reading across the curriculum at Central Middle School for parents and teachers. This endeavor led to our school winning an award from the Secondary Principal's Counsel. I am also a Resource Teacher, Certified Teacher Trainer and School Administrator. I have received numerous county wide, national and international awards. I retired from Saginaw Public Schools (Central Middle School) Saginaw, Michigan in June of 2009. I presently volunteer to work with students and adults to help them improve their reading skills at Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church in Saginaw, Michigan where I am President of the Mission which meets on Wednesdays at 5:00 p.m. In the Saginaw Valley Baptist District I am presently a successful Floral and Sunshine Committee Field Leader and a 2015 Saginaw Valley District Honoree as well as a Sunshine and Floral Field Leader in the Wolverine State's Convention. I was honored by the Wolverine State Baptist Convention Woman's Auxiliary United Sisterhood on April 2, 2016.

Recognize each student as an individual in the learning process and teach them accordingly.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Saginaw County wide Crystal Apple Award (Top Ten Teacher), National Honor Roll's Outstanding American Teacher, Grammy Award from Central Middle School, Who's Who of Professionals International.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have attended seven universities. They are as follows: 1969 graduated from Daniel Payne College with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education (Birmingham, Alabama), April 1980, received an M.A. Degree in Reading Administration from Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, Michigan, I Matriculated at the following universities: 1979 University of Michigan, 1980 University of California, Los Angeles, 1979 Utah State U, 2002 Central Michigan University, and Saginaw Valley State University School of Administration Salta), Saginaw, Michigan.
