McLean & Co. aims to provide resources, lessons, and outreach to our many dedicated and professional teachers everywhere. Through engaging lessons, teacher-led seminars as well as online and in-person support, McLean & Co. wants to be your personal mentor in developing curriculum for anything history.
I currently teach within Denver Public Schools at a multiple pathways high school that caters to students who are “old and close” to graduating from high school but are also overcoming many challenges. I am the history department. With four core content teachers (total), the curriculum I teach is everything from World History, American Government and Politics to Colorado History and the Holocaust and Human Behavior. In the short, “I do the histories.”
Distinguished Teacher Award within Denver Public Schools (2016) Certified ELA-Transitional. "Facing History and Ourselves" Member since 2013. Masters in Education-Curriculum and Instruction (history emphasis).
Just last spring, I obtained a graduate degree in curriculum and instruction, with an emphasis in History on top of a Bachelor’s degree in History and Anthropology from Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado. And it is because of this love for teaching, and the love for learning history that this site was developed.
I am as close to being a Colorado native as you can get without having been born in Colorado. I have been working, playing and living in Colorado for close to 25 years. My heart’s home is located on the other side of the state, in a small farming town on the western slope called Montrose–or Mont-rose if you aren’t from there– but my wife and I put roots down in the big city. Denver, Colorado. What you see on this website is just a glimpse or a snap shot if you will of what we do here at McLean & Co. There are some freebie lessons, but let’s be honest, sometimes, we need all the help we can get. It’s here for you. For personal and privately catered lessons and curriculum, reach out on the contact menu and I would be delighted to “sit” with you (in person if possible over a cup of coffee or online if you live in a cooler place than me) and share ideas and plans for making your class and class instruction greater. Again, thanks for checking us out, and welcome to the team of amazing teachers doing what is best for our students!
