Hello everyone! My name is Colleen and I have been teaching in Sydney primary schools for over 17 years. During that time I have not been able to sit still, and so have also spent that time tinkering with and exploring digital technologies. That wasn't enough because an interest in science meant another foray into higher education to satisfy those curiosities too. My strength in schools comes with supporting teachers with their teaching, and gathering ideas for resources to make teaching life easier for these amazing, selfless, intensely dedicated beings.
My teaching style revolves around simplicity, which reflects on the way my resources are constructed. A simple focus allows for a thorough exploration of the concept at hand, which in turn gives room for the student to explore a spark in their curiosity. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing pure the joy from a child as they discover something that has completely captured their mind, before they drop everything to find out what they can to expand their own knowledge. As Richard Feynman once said: “Study hard what interests you the most in the most undisciplined, irreverent and original manner possible.”
