TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I currently teach 9th grade English and serve as an instructional coach for my district in Tennessee. When I am not in the classroom, I spend my time speaking at conferences including the Tennessee LEAD Conference and consulting for schools and districts supporting teachers in the instruction of writing, time management, student engagement, and the overall integration of ELA classrooms.

MY TEACHING STYLE

As a teacher who strives to create an environment where students are excited to read classic literature and write thoughtful, argumentative essays (this is no simple task), I work to engage all students through innovative methods. Because one teaching method can never work for all students, I focus on differentiation and scaffolding in new and exciting ways. For more ideas and strategies, visit my blog at www.theeducatorskey.com.
