TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a SLP in the schools for 6 years working with students in preschool all the way up to high school students. I am currently working with elementary age students ranging in disabilities from speech sound disorders to non-verbal students working on communication devices. I became a SLP after watching my mom practice as an SLP in her classroom after school tutoring students in speech and language for many years while I was in elementary schools. She was my inspiration to become a SLP, we actually worked together in the same district for 3 years and were the only SLPs in the district.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I enjoy having fun with students. I prefer to incorporate fun into our lessons while still focusing on our targets and make progress on our goals but there are many days that focus strictly on getting work done! I love new activities and bringing in technology to therapy. My teaching style changes depending on the needs of the students and when you work in small groups with students that is much easier to do than in a whole class setting.
