I have been teaching for 9 years. My career began as a maternity leave substitute in 1st grade, then moved me to 3rd grade for 2 years, and finally has taken me to a 2nd grade position. I have a computer literacy endorsement on my license and some Special Ed training.
I can't get enough of new research and old style. I love my students unconditionally and think of them as part pf my family. I love using technology and new ideas. I will try anything at least once. My classroom is a structured home to many free choice activities, lots of cooperative learning, and usually lots of fun. I don't believe in busy work or what I have deemed "factory work". I am a bit of a control freak and make almost all of my own activities.
Nothing official yet! But I'm hoping my hard work will get something for me to put in this box someday. But the sheer amount of students who return to my room to check in and say they miss me and the occassional compliment of a corporation colleague in the older grades is truly award enough for me!
