This is my sixth year teaching! This experience has made me laugh, cry, (drink wine), and truly love teaching. I have no idea where my crazy teaching career will take me, but I am loving every minute of it.
I believe students learn the best from a teacher who cares. I write notes to my students on a weekly basis and stuff their mailboxes with thank you cards. I use a lot of direct instruction in my classroom and my students respond very well to this. My students often write me notes thanking me for caring for them and how much they enjoy being in my classroom. I believe a good teacher cares about their students and that's exactly what I am doing.

I attended the State University of New York College at Buffalo where I received my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood and Childhood Education. I followed my husband to the south which landed us in Wilmington, NC. I continued my education at UNCW with a Masters in Education.
I grew up in Buffalo, NY and lived there for 23 years. Living in the snow belt, I had my fair share of shoveling and decided it was time to leave. I moved down south to North Carolina with my husband and loved living in Wilmington, NC. Our jobs moved us out west to California, where we currently reside. I don't know what the future hold or where we will end up, but I know I'll be teaching where ever I am. In my spare time I love to knit, make blankets, watch movies, and read. I can often be found underneath my favorite blanket laying in my hammock with a book in my hand. I love traveling and learning new things!
