The 2017-2018 school year will be my 11th year teaching. I've taught K and 1st...the primary grades have my heart!
Things can get crazy in first grade, but I try to have some structure! I teach content areas through reading and writing whenever possible. Reading is my passion!
I graduated summa cum laude from Wesleyan College in 2007. I have presented in several local and national conferences including the Association for Literacy Educators and Researchers, Literacy Research Association, International Literacy Association, and the Georgia Reading Association!
I graduated with a BA in Early Childhood Ed in 2007. In 2014 I received my M.Ed in Reading, Language, and Literacy. I am certified P-5 in Early Childhood and K-12 as a reading specialist. I also have my ESL and Teacher Support Coaching endorsement!
I play the piano (I was a piano performance major for a very short while in college)...I love to shop and craft...I have a 5 year old daughter...I love the color pink, monogrammed things, and Tervis tumblers!
