TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for seven years. All of those years have been in Kindergarten! Before that I taught PreSchool, so I really understand the early childhood learner. I love to see those little kiddos go from barely knowing letters to reading! It is such a magical and influential time in a child's life.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a believer in hands on learning. We need to touch and feel and create to learn. I believe that using songs in the classroom is essential to learning. If you were to take a look in my classroom, you would most likely see my students take ownership of their own learning through literacy centers, math centers, and independent writing time. I am the guide, the faciliator of the learning experience. I am a no-fuss teacher! No cutsey frills in my room. Yes, we create things, but you won't find that my classroom all matches under a theme. But that's not necessary to be a great teacher. I have the passion and understanding of young students to foster wonderful learning.
