TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I just retired after having been an elementary school teacher for 32 years. I taught first, second, and third grades.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe every child learns at their own pace and in their own way. As a teacher, I like to bring in all modalities of teaching so that every child has what is needed to learn. Most of my students are second language learners so a lot of visuals, repetition, and especially modeling is crucial. I believe in "I Do, We Do, You Do" so my students know what is expected of them through plenty of modeling before they work independently.

Earned a Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Bilingual Teaching Credential K-12, and Master's degree in Education- Curriculum and Instruction from California State University, Fullerton.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I came from Cuba in 1962, and I have lived in California since. I have been happily married for 44 years. We have two amazing daughters, one shares my passion for teaching, and we are blessed with four wonderfully active grandchildren. Now that I'm more mature and retired, I have had the opportunity to travel some, and hope to continue to do more. I love word games, and I especially love to create curricular materials in English an Spanish, and I do enjoy sharing!
