TEACHING EXPERIENCE

STEM education is my passion! As a former engineer and homeschooling parent, I love creating engineering resources for kids as well as hands-on math activities and science experiments! You can read about some of the activities we've done on my momgineer blog, or visit my Facebook page for updates. I am also founder of the site STEM Activities for Kids:

where I am blessed to have so many amazing STEM educators writing and sharing their STEM knowledge with us!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I tend to make learning as hands-on as possible as that is how my own children learn - by doing! I have implemented this style of learning in my STEM Tales challenges, which are perfect for students in Grades 1-3 (ages 6-9):

"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." -- Benjamin Franklin

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I hold several patents and patent applications in the area of implantable medical devices from my engineering career:

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

B.S. and M.Eng., Mechanical Engineering

I have a soft spot for rescue dogs, and spend as much time as I can expanding and tending my vegetable/herb/fruit garden in the summer. “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” - Gandhi Meredith Anderson - Momgineer
