Jennifer Mercer, President of Mercer Educational Resources, Inc. (MERI), has 30+ years of professional experience in education in roles that include director, preschool and elementary teacher, principal, national NAC master trainer, college instructor, local trainer and consultant. She has supervised student teachers, supported staff in K-12 education, and developed and presented trainings for teachers of preschool through high school.
Grounded in early childhood education, Jennifer’s teaching style is eclectic and driven by the needs of the learner. Multi-sensory, active learning experiences are utilized to increase engagement, comprehension and retention. Opportunities for authentic application and problem-solving facilitate deeper understanding and allow for transfer of the learning to new situations.
Jennifer Mercer has had the honor of presenting at national conferences including NAEYC Professional Institute 2015, ACEI, and NCCA. She co-authored an article in Childhood Education, "Hey, Where's the Toys?" Play and Literacy in First Grade.
Ms. Mercer earned her B.A. in education and her M.A. in Elementary Education (emphasis in Early Childhood Education). She has 18 hours of post graduate work in Education Administration and has attended numerous conferences and trainings. She holds a New Mexico K-8 Instructional Leader License, a New Mexico K-12 Administrative License and NM State Trainer certification at Level 2.
