I am now working in private practice, but I was a speech-language pathologist in Louisiana Public Schools for 24 years treating students ages 3 to 15. Experience includes treating students with hearing loss, apraxia, autism, and all varieties of speech sound disorders as well as language, voice, and fluency disorders, implementing AAC and assistive technology. As a district leader in my later years, I supervised and supported SLPs and Teachers of the Deaf.
I believe speech/language therapy should be both effective AND engaging. When kids get excited about therapy, they are motivated to do their best, and they work HARD for us! That's when their skills blossom!
Award of Excellence and Leadership in the field from Speech Pathologists & Audiologists in Louisiana Schools, 2018 Public School System of the Year from the Louisiana Speech Language and Hearing Association, 2019
I received by Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders from Northeast Louisiana University in 1994 (now called University of Louisiana at Monroe) In 1995, I graduated from LSU with a Masters Degree in Speech Pathology.
I was born and raised in the heart of cajun country but now live in Prairieville, LA with my two boys, my high school sweetheart husband, Juniper & Scout (the rescue cats). When I'm not doing speech therapy, I love to travel, blog, read, antique, crochet, and craft! OH, and like all SLPs, I love to TALK!
