The fall of 2015 will be the beginning of my twentieth year as a "kindergarten whisperer!" I've taught in Alaska, New Mexico and Kansas, and love sharing the world with our youngest learners.
I'm an advocate of developmentally appropriate practice, "DAP." Generally, it means that I appreciate and understand child development, and am never inclined to treat my kindergarten Super Stars like short third or fourth graders.
I have been a BP Teacher of Excellence Nominee (Alaska) and my district's nominee for Kansas Teacher of the Year (2012).
