My husband and I have embarked on the exiting journey of homeschooling. We are now in our second year of this adventure as we homeschool our six year old son in First Grade.. I have created my own curriculum as well as Montessori inspired learning tray activities and lapbooks around select monthly science themes. In addition to being my 6 yr old's first teacher, I am also the mother of an 18 month and have created some easy learning actvities for him as well. I also have 10 yrs of child care experience teaching 1-5 yrs and, disabled youth 8-22 yrs. I have also taught art to toddlers, preschoolers, youth and adults. I currently run a play group for 1-5 yr olds with my friend. I draw upon all these experiences in the creation of my curriculum. I am excited to share that curriculum with you.
I incorporate montessori principles in my curriculum. I also use worksheets to reinforce concepts and am in love with lapbooks. I believe that learning should be fun and strive to keep my learning environment for my sons fun and full of play. I know I have accomplished this when lesson time is over and my son is begging me "can we learn some more"
