This year will mark my seventh year as a teacher and dedicated educator. I have experience teaching Global History I & Global History II, AP World History, and Art History.
If you ever want someone to truly listen to what you have to say, then you need to show that what you are saying is relevant to their lives. This is the approach I take when teaching students about history. Students often ask why they should care about a bunch of dead old people, and I hope to show them that history is something that I evident in all of our lives. Even though history has its roots in the past, its branches reach out to the future. Each lesson I design is constructed in a manner that immerses students into the very relevant and fun world of history.
Earned Principal's List of Academic Excellence (GPA of 4.0) during two semesters of undergraduate work and Dean's List for every semester. Perelson Award for Humanities, 06' Series Scholarship for Academic Excellence, the Class of 1956 Academic Scholarship, and the Geneseo Presidential-Miller Neverett Award. I am involved in 3 honors societies including the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, Golden Key International Honor Society, and the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society.
I earned my Masters of Education degree from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY and I earned my BA in History from SUNY Geneseo in NY, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
I am very fortunate enough to return to my home town to teach in the community I love which is surrounded by rich history and natural beauty. I design lessons that encourage my students to get ready to experience and explore history...and have some fun along the way!!!
