I am currently in my 16th year of teaching. I began my teaching experiences in middle school, but went on to teach elementary school and have taught 5th, 4th, and have been in 2nd grade for 9 years. Second grade has been my favorite grade to teach! I love all of my 2nd grade students!!
I can't really say that I have one type of teaching style. I have very diverse students that require me to teach in a variety of ways. I am a firm believer in differentiation in the classroom and know that it works! I am always changing what I do to better meet the needs of my students. I am not sure that I have taught the same two years in a row :-)
My Teacher is Tops-13 WMAZ award-1999 Win With Classworks award winner-2008, 2010 Teacher of the Year 2012-2013 For 10 years, I was given the wonderful opportunity and honor to teach students that struggle to learn or have not been successful at school. It was my goal to make sure that when these students left me that they loved school and performed where they needed to be. My ultimate goal is to make kids LOVE to learn. It has been my honor to have been given the opportunity to teach these students for this many years. It is the most rewarding feeling when you see a student become successful at something they couldn't do well at the beginning of the year. For this past year, I have had the opportunity to teach a class filled with gifted and talented 2nd grade students. It has been a terrific experience and I feel lucky to have had the chance to teach these sweet students. I will continue for the next year to teach these gifted students. Even though I have changed the type of students that I teach, I still strive to design lessons that are fun and exciting! I can't wait to share what I decide to make for this next group of students!
I have a Bachelor's degree in Middle grades education (certified to teach all subjects), a Master's degree in Elementary education, a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. I aspire one day to be an administrator, but for now I am SUPER happy with teaching 2nd graders!!!
ALL of my profit on TPT is dedicated to go back to my students whether it be purchasing cool new lesson ideas to get them excited (on TPT), buying them books that they can read in my classroom, or purchasing new technology for us to use. Please follow my blog on: http://michelle-davis.blogspot.com
