Nationally Board Certified teacher with 8 years teaching experience in a large urban school district. I currently teach fourth grade in a high performing charter school in a low income, urban setting.
I am a creative, energetic teacher. I teach using hands-on, student driven activities, using small groups as my primary mode of instruction. I am honing my skills and developing my craft in guided reading, literature groups, writers workshop, daily 5/cafe, and small group differentiated math instruction.
I achieved National Board Certification in Early-Middle Childhood, Literacy: Reading-Language Arts in 2013.
I completed my undergraduate program at Manchester College in 2005, completing a five year stint that included a year studying and teaching abroad in France and a semester teaching in Chicago. I graduated with degrees in elementary and secondary education, with a focus on English and French.
