I have taught for four years, two years in 4th grade ELA/SS and two years in 6th & 7th grade science. My schools are magnet schools in a large school district, where I teach G/T, on-level, and SPED students.
I am very chill. I like for my students to explore and be curios, so I try to create hands-on lessons. However, I do require my students to take notes, write, and read (so called "boring") activities because the world is not always entertaining. I do try to be funny and create strong relationships with my students. Every year, I always end up with a "Lunch Bunch" who eat lunch with me almost every day.
Being asked to host my own section of a P.D. about forming relationships with students.
I attended a variety of public and private schools in elementary. By middle school, we had finally settled down in an area. I was homeschooled in high school due to my busy ballet schedule. I wanted to be a professional ballet dances, so it seemed like the best choice. I then attended community college and had some wonderful and inspiring professors that made me want to teach. This experienced helped me to go on to a university and become the teacher I am today.
I also run the DIY club where we make different crafts out of recycled goods. It is such a great group of kids! They are so creative and such risk takers! Another club I run after school is the Card Club aka The Nerd Club xD We play Pokemon TCG and Magic the Gathering. Another great group of kids that are passionate about what they do.
