I've been a teacher for 8 years and in that time have taught everything from grade 2-6. More recently, I've been at a middle school, spending my time in grades 4, 5 & 6.... which is the age group I really love!
Visual journaling is the biggest tool used in my classroom and is where we do the bulk of our learning in class. I also do lots of mini inquiry projects where students need to explore and create their own meaning and understanding about various concepts - particularly in science and social studies. To culminate a unit, I often create larger projects that ask students to share their knowledge in a variety of ways (research, presentation, multi-modal representation). I love tools that help me stay organized and lessons that are creative and promote students to inquire and discover their own learning.

I recently completed my Masters, with a focus on curriculum and teaching.
