I have taught 8th grade Social Studies since 2006. I enjoy teaching and I am very involved in the National History Day program.
I tend to do a lot of interactive work in my classroom, such as act-it-outs, inside/outside circle, Think-Jot-Talk etc. I also emphasize social history and cause and effect more than a simple remembering of dates.
I was awarded Teacher of the Year in 2011 by the Hawaii Council for the Humanities.
I have a BEd in Secondary Education from the University of Hawaii.
I am married with one beautiful, intelligent, and rascal daughter and a cat named Cat.
