I have taught for 37 years at the 4th, 5th and 6th grade levels. I have taught all subjects with the last 18 years specializing in Science and Social Studies at the intermediate level. My daughter, Nicole, has taught for 7 years at the primary level and has experience in grades K-2. We are both GLAD trained and will be offering these strategies in our units/lessons. I serve on our district STEM committee and have been apart of the development of STEM activities in our school.
We believe in student-centered differentiated instruction because we believe that students all have the ability to both learn and succeed. We also believe that it is important to provide students with various avenues to success which is why we like to create creative and innovative units/lessons that can be used to reach all learning styles.
I am a 2004 and 2012 Washington State Crystal Apple Award winner for our district.
I graduated from Central Washington University with a BA in Elementary Education with a minor in Health Education. I obtained my Masters Degree from Eastern Washington University in Curriculum and Instruction. Nicole graduated from Washington State University with a BA in Elementary Education and an endorsement in ELL.
We will be submitting a wide variety of lesson plans ranging K - 5 including easy to follow PowerPoint presentations and GLAD strategy based lessons.
