This is my 10th year in education. I received a fabulous education at Kansas State University--go Wildcats! In college I student taught in an 8th grade social studies room, a 1st grade, 5th grade and a 4th grade classroom. After college, I taught 4th grade for five years. I think 4th grade is a perfect age! :) For the past three years, I have been a reading interventionist at a 5/6 grade center. This year I am tackling math intervention, in addition to reading!!
If you were to walk into my classroom---you would feel energy and positivity. I LOVE for students to be interactive, problem solvers, using manipulatives and tapping into technology. Oh--and I must not forget-- talking! I want my students discussing, laughing and truly enjoying learning!
Recipient of the Valley Center Education Foundation Grant
I graduated from Kansas State University in the Spring of 2007 with a Elementary Education degree and an endorsement of middle level social sciences. In 2010 I graduated from Wichita State University with a master's in Curriculum and Instruction. In 2012 I completed my reading specialist endorsement, and I will eventually persue a doctoral degree.
