Exit tickets are a great and brief way to informally assess how a student did on a particular lesson. They can be easily incorporated in your content areas and allow students the opprtunity to think critically and monitor their own learning.

This chart is a great tool for students to use to self-monitor their fluency progress. I use it each week as I give my students new passages. The range on the chart can be adjusted to fit the needs of your students. Border by Krista Wallden

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am beginning my 8th year teaching elementary school. I spent a few years teaching learning support before I was assigned as a classroom teacher. Since then I have taught 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades and this year I am thrilled to be in second grade! There are many things that I love about each grade level that I have taught and I am excited to share with you what I have used throughout the years!

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style matches who I am as a person. I am fun loving and laid back, yet I believe in boundaries and high expectations. I love my students for who they are and what they bring to school with them each day. I believe that each child is capable of acheiving success and it is my job (along with their families) to show them how to do that :)
