I graduated from Acadia University with my Education Degree in 1998. I started my career as an Exceptionalities Teacher in Elon, NC from 1999 to 2001. I returned to Nova Scotia, Canada and taught Physical Education for 4 years at the elementary level. For the past 11 years I've been teaching grades 4-6. I enjoy the maturity and sense of humour of this particular level and feel that upper elementary is where I am best suited as a teacher.
My teaching style depends on the learning styles of my students. At the grade 4-6 level most students learn best through guidance/facilitator, modelling, discussion, practice, and problem solving. I believe that being a teacher is born in you and each day you need to quickly change to meet the needs of your students.
