I have 5 years of experience in a 3rd grade classroom. This past year, I started a new journey as an E.S.L. teacher.
I take a very student-centered approach to teaching. I have found that students thrive when interacting and learning from their peers, so my room is full of cooperative learning & inquiry-based learning activities. When students take responsibility for their own learning, real growth is achieved!

I have a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education from Louisiana Tech University, a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Tennessee at Martin, as well as a certification in teaching English as a Second Language.
I was born and raised in Southern California. For undergrad, I moved across the country to attend Louisiana Tech University. ((Talk about a culture shock!!)) After college, I lived in central Louisiana for five years, where I taught 3rd grade in a rural elementary school. In 2015, I followed family to Murfreesboro, Tennessee and began this exciting new journey!
