TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Hello TpT lovers! I am a new teacher, currently in my senior year of college! I am a member of the PDS program which is a full year student teaching internship experience. I am currently teaching 2nd grade and kindergarten, but have a year experience with 3rd grade as well. Although I am a new teacher, all of my lessons and materials that I am posting are updated with the current teaching styles and are backed up with my fresh university knowledge!

MY TEACHING STYLE

Like most teachers, I am a big advocate for hands-on and engaging learning. I love to put students into small groups during appropriate work times, have short whole group mini lessons, and engage my students in hands-on activities throughout the day. I love both ability based and flexible grouping and am fresh in working with the reader's and writer's workshop. I have worked with national members of the NSTA through my schooling and have had several professors that are high up in the world of education that pass their knowledge and skills down to me for my own classroom.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Not yet, but hopefully one day!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I am a Nittany Lion excited to teach my little cubs! Let's go PSU!!! Undergraduate Degree: Pennsylvania State University Major: Child & Early Adolescent Education (CEAED/Early Childhood) Minor: Special Education Nationally Accredited Program: Professional Development Schools (PDS 2016-2017)

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Teaching is my passion. I am always excited to create wonderful tools to help my students learn and love to share these ideas with fellow teachers. Aside from teaching, I am also a dancer, just 3 credits short of a dance minor. Because of this, I am very interested in kinesthetic learning and incorporating movement into my daily classroom through interactive lessons, school yoga, brain breaks, and even using different classroom objects such as standing desks, fidget bars, yoga balls, etc.
