I have spent nearly a decade educating and enjoying every moment. I began my career as the Program Director for a YMCA Before-and-After School program. During my time with the organization I taught many grade levels simultaneously in areas of reading, writing, arts, fitness and wellness (SPARK). Teaching multiple students coming from a variety of levels was a challenging one, but my acquired skill-set presents advantages within my current career as a 3rd grade teacher. At the moment I'm teaching a specific level, however I still meet a variety of interesting students. I couldn't ask for more!
I don't like to make attempts at canning my teaching methods. Every student is different and this is reflected in their capacity for learning. However, I do have one main motivation and that is to aid in discovery. I believe there is a certain richness in the idea of discovering something new. In my experience this can become an effective tool in a student's understanding of any idea. Knowledge can only be earned, but I find reward in demonstrating that learning soon becomes an exciting hunt!

In my free time I enjoy writing, reading, and illustrating. I draw most of my inspiration from the beauty that surrounds me in the Hudson River Valley.
