TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently teaching Adult Education in Ontario, Canada. I am a recent graduate from the University of Toronto, and I am learning the challenges and rewards of teaching everyday. I work with many students who are choosing to return to school for many reasons as adults. As many of my students have already had real life experience, I am forced to teach lessons that have applicable foundations to the real world.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I very much believe that a teacher is meant to be a facilitator of learning, not an individual who forces knowledge on another. I believe in creating lessons where it is the students responsibility to learn, and I provide the instructions, guidelines and support.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I received my undergraduate degree from The University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. I majored in English Literature, minored in History and the Classics. I worked with inner-city students in Toronto, Ontario, as I went through Teacher's College in Toronto, Ontario. My experience in Toronto was very eye-opening and rewarding. It was there that I learned if you could survive your first year of teaching, you could survive the job, but if you succeeded in having your students trust you, and genuinely learn from you, then you would establish yourself with a career worth having.
