Previous to being hired full time, I worked in various local school districts and taught all grades and all abilities. I have taught early education, preschool, 4th grade general education, middle school special education, and elementary education. I am approved to teach general education birth-6th and ELA 7-12 along with special education k-12.
I am currently working in a behavior management class, where routine is key. I start lessons with brief review, a quick lesson and some sort of student lead activity. Upon completion, we do a quick summery discussion and exit question/assessment. Because my special education classes usually contain a wide variety of abilities, I try create activities that can be adapted for various learners as well as that use various means of showing mastery that can be modified for various methods of communication.

I attending SUNY Geneseo for my undergad in childhood education and specail education as well as English Literature. I followed with attendance at Walden University for my Master's.
I currently live in my childhood county in upstate New York. My husband and I live next door to the family farm. We have a wonderful toddler who keeps us jumping. Along with an assortment of "critters" we keep busy with community events and family time.
