TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have a PhD in social work and have taught introductory courses at two state university social work work programs (undergraduate and graduate) on individual and group counseling, theories of human behavior, and research methods. Most of what I have posted here are classroom-tested experiential assignments with an activity and writing component. I also have materials on how to facilitate in-class discussion about race, gender, culture, and other issues where emotions are likely to run high. I have adapted this content to be accessible to upper-class high school students and undergraduates.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I use an interactive, dynamic, and collaborative pedagogy that highlights critical thinking and asks students to question and explore.
