This is my second year teaching K-8 general and comprehensive music in the suburbs of Chicago.
I believe that all students learn differently, and that differentiated instruction is a large part of the classroom. Because of this, most of my lessons are differentiated for not only special learners, but also for each learner's strengths and weaknesses.
I was lucky enough to present two sessions at the NAfME Special Learners conference in 2015, as well as present multiple sessions on differentiation in my own district and for pre-service teachers.
I attended high school in the suburbs of Chicago before attending Illinois State University in central Illinois for my undergraduate schooling. I received an education degree endorsed in Special Education, General Music, and Choral Music, as well as a minor in vocal music. I currently am a graduate student at Wichita State University studying Music Education with an emphasis in Special Education, as well as a graduate student at Concordia University Chicago studying Educational Technology.
