Hi! I'm currently teaching a composite class of year 1/2 in Australia. My teaching experience began in 2007 where i have observed and taught in a range of classes and primary grades, from Kindergarten to Year 6, including team-teaching/open classrooms, opportunity classes (gifted students) and special needs classes.
I see the teacher as a guide and students as the active learners. They should be involved in what and how they learn. Above all I believe learning should be differentiated for individual students' needs, interests and abilities to ensure success for each student.
We currently don't have any district/school-based teacher awards in Australia, however, I have been given student-made awards/letters/gifts for being their "favourite teacher" if that counts :-p
I completed my Bachelor of Education (Primary) degree at a University here in Australia, and was also placed on the University's Dean's list for outstanding achievement.
I enjoy making resources for my students to use that can be adapted or differentiated for different needs. I try to make resources that are fun and engaging for the students and allow learning to occur at their own pace. I hope you enjoy using them for your students too :-)
