The 2014-2015 school year will be my eighth year of teaching. I began my career by teaching second grade. I looped up to third grade with that special class, and I remained as a third grade teacher for several years. During that time, I earned my gifted endorsement, and I began teaching self-contained Talented and Gifted classes. I took a sabbatical from working for a few years to embark on some new adventures. When I returned to the classroom, I taught first grade for one year, and I have been teaching fourth grade after that first year back.

I possess both a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Since graduating from school, I have maintained my life-long quest for learning by earning my ESOL and gifted endorsements, as well as National Board certification.
One of the coolest experiences I have had in my lifetime has been the opportunity to travel and live abroad. Most of my adventures have occurred in Central and South America. One such journey led me to stay abroad for seven months and bring home two beautiful daughters at the end of my stay! I love to learn foreign languages and, I guess it goes without saying, travel! Other than teaching and traveling, something noteworthy about me is that I am a three year cancer survivor. :)
